Been There - Done That !!!

This book shows how easy it is for women to surround themselves with negative people and put themselves in real life situations that are not in their best interest. However, it takes a strong woman to acknowledge and understand the negativity in ones life and make a conscious effort to change that. I was where Keri was at one point in my life and I'm glad we both have put that part of our lives in the past. Hopefully, if anyone reading this book is in a simular situation, they will find courage to do the same.

VERY WELL WRITTEN

First, let me say that I just read the review left by "A Reviewer from Virginia Beach, VA" and I would have to disagree totally. First of all, it sounds like this reviewer has a personal vendetta against the author, not the book. I don't know what book the reviewer from Virginia Beach was reading but it sure wasn't Misery Loves Company by B. Lawson Thornton. I found Misery Loves Company to be extremely well written and an excellent story. It held my attention from the first page - I could not put it down. I bought the book based on the recommendation of the bookstore salesperson where I purchased the book here in Hartford, Connecticut. I was a little skeptical because I had never heard of the author before, but the salesperson said he'd read the book and loved it so based on that, I purchased and was very pleasantly surprised. I would recommend this book to anyone, black, white, young, old. It crosses both gender and racial lines.

Misery Loves Company is a "Must Buy"

This was a very inspirational book. Being a young black female growing up in the inner city like Kerri, I could relate with so many things she went through. There are so many times when I just wanted to throw in the towell and give up but when you read stories like this its like an assurance that you can overcome any obsticle. Congratulations B. Lawson Thornton on a job well done!

BRAVO!

One of the most uplifting books that I have read in years. I cried, laughed and rejoiced all in one breath! You will find your self in Keri Michelle over and over again. This book is for any women who has fallen and regained herself from any situation. B. Lawson has it going on. I have three words to say... Next book please.

kerri is true to life

i loved the book. B Lawson Thornton captures the readers imagination right from the start of this novel with her true to life tale of a black girl lost searching for her true self-identity in a world where all goes wrong around her. This tale is gripping, emotionally charged, and kept me eager to find out what drama awaited the main character next. Misery Loves Company was well worth reading and I recommend it for any young female struggling to carve out her personal niche in the midst of chaos.
