Junior Pilot Celestinus Chreston and Junior Miner Bailey Pearson have finally graduated from their first year of occupational training aboard ARC-3. On Earth Day, 2189, these two finally get the chance to hang out for the first time since their last great adventure. But their much anticipated rendezvous goes awry when their space ark ventures through the unknown horrors of a traveling wormhole which spits them out into the orbit of a supermassive black hole. This random misfortune begins them down a path of despair as Celestinus is swallowed by the crushing power of the void and Bailey is spirited away by a vengeful immortal. As each of them is forced to change to stay alive, they must too fight to remember the friendship that they once held.
