Wonderful witty fun...

The more you know of medieval illuminations, the funnier this book is. What Ms. Herbert has done here is to redraw The Tres Riches Heures of Jean, Duke of Berry, replacing the people with cats.Ms. Herbert's many books revisit the styles of famous artists; this is my personal favorite, and I think it's criminal that it's out of print.

I don't love cats, in fact, I'm really allergic to them. But I have this book, and it is a good picture book. It has pictures that may have been farmiliar in the medieval times, with cats as the characters. It's not just for kids either, just if you like cats. Each page has a description of the picture. It's not a real cutesie cat book, but it's fun.
