Published in 1909, "Materialism and Empirio Criticism" is a seminal work by Soviet revolutionary politician V.I. Lenin. In this book, Lenin sets out to show that the Marxist theory of knowledge is a superior understanding of the world than any competing theory. He argues that the philosophical ideas of empiricism and positivism are essentially flawed and that instead, it is necessary to recognize the role of material reality in human thought.
