Exquisite illustrations, sweet and educational story

The paintings of elephants and other animals in this book are so exquisite, I am still swept away with amazement each time I read it to my toddler son. Through the journey of the little elephant in the story discovering what his trunk is and all the things it can do, we learn a lot about elephants and how they survive in their exotic habitat. Our 26-month old son is a bit young for this book, but enjoys it and I'm certain he will appreciate it more and more as he gets older. I recommend this book highly - it's a special gem.
A Beautifully Illustrated and Informative Book

We love this book. Our 5 year old and 2 year old request reading this book almost every night. It is well illustrated and very informative. The Little Elephant learns about his surroundings by watching, and immitating, the adult elephants as they go through their day. Little Elephant learns to walk, keep cool, swim, keep safe, eat, and even how to show love and affection. The center of focus is his trunk and it's usefullness. The Little Elephant learns that the trunk that trips him up, is also the trunk that communicates love with his mother. This is a great book. I highly recommend it.
