These obnoxious people are too much

The concept has potential, and I did read the whole thing. But frankly -- with all these unlikeable characters -- I didn't care who killed whom at the end. (And I couldn't take any more exhaustive detail about mom's menopause. Also, a LOT of elements didn't jibe or were left hanging; maybe the editor was having hot flashes of her own!) Every little matter becomes comically dramatic: a teen boy dates a teen girl, so she must DIE; a kid gets food poisoning, so the world as we know it is ending; living room furniture is rearranged ... just imagine the trauma. I'll try one more Slater book, but hopefully no one's having prostate troubles ... and everyone leaves the couch in place.

Couldn't figure out where this story line was going. It kept me intrigued and hooked me into reading it constantly. Loved it.
