Diary of a Wimpy Kid... gone evil.
In life, Jeremiah feels helpless and alone. At school, he's always in trouble for drawing during class, and his crew of comic book-obsessed nerds are easy pickings for bullies. But on the page, Jeremiah has Laugh Riot, a hilarious and slapstick cartoon character who helps him take revenge on his mean teachers and bullies in comedic ways. Laugh Riot is everything Jeremiah isn't -- brave, funny, cool, and able to fight back against his transgressors.
Then, one night, Jeremiah's least favorite teacher, Mr. Frejer, sends home a note saying Jeremiah is drawing too much in class. The next day, Mr. Frejer isn't in school. There was an accident that caused his house to catch fire. The next day, after being beaten up outside of school, Jeremiah draws a cartoon where Laugh Riot pantses the bully in front of the school -- and the next day, it's revealed that the bully's shorts got ripped off midway through last night's basketball game.
That night, Jeremiah draws a cartoon asking Laugh Riot if he's real... and when he wakes up, the rest of the comic is filled in, with Laugh Riot explaining that Jeremiah made him real. That he's special. That he and Laugh Riot can work together, to make Jeremiah's life better.
But of course, when Laugh Riot starts to strike out too far on his own, Jeremiah realizes the character he's drawn might not be wimpy... but he might be evil.
