Not the usual romance

There's nothing formulaic about Laird of the Game. You don't wa]de through the entire book waiting for the hero and heroine to commit to each other. You see their love bloom without the usual angst. Yes, there's a twist and yes, there's a secret but these two are open and up-front about their feelings. I'm anxiously awaiting the stories Lori creates for the rest of these handsome, kind, intriguing brothers. I loved the Rosabel snippets and Melissa and her sisters. The book is just fun.

I would not miss reading this book! To tell you a little about, "Larid of the Game" an American tourist in Scotland thinks she has stepped back in time, while actually she finds herself in the middle of a Celtic warrior reality game. Ms. Leigh enjoys empowering her female characters. For example, a female character trains the male characters in sword fighting and horseback riding. As a romance author, she also prides herself on adding twists and turns to the plot to gain unexpected results. As a reader this book pulled me in and I felt like I was part of the story. I have read of 1,000's of books. Yes I do recommond this wonderful book and rated with 5 cups!
5 Stars For Laird Of The Game!

Laird is an excellent novel. Ms. Leigh really shows her writing chops with this book. You'll find humor, romance, and some time travel -- except it isn't really time travel! This clever, inventive story finds a beautiful young woman caught up in some games with some very interesting brothers. This book contains strong characters, outstanding writing, and a great story. We're looking forward to further adventures with the MacKenna brothers! Well done to Ms. Leigh!
5 Beacon Review for LAIRD OF THE GAME

FIVE BEACON REVIEW FOR LAIRD OF THE GAME by Lori Leigh When Melissa Johnson sets off with her tour group in Scotland, the absent minded graphic artist get separated from her group a few times. She never dreams that she will wind up in the middle of a battle in 1745! Alex McKenna has shouldered the responsibility for his six brothers and the family fortune since he was eighteen years old. In the midst of the annual Laird of the Game battle, he wishes for an angel, and she appears! He rescues Melissa and brings her to his camp. In her confusion she thinks that she is actually in 1745. Alex and his men do nothing to tell her otherwise, since Alex has fallen in love and is committed to the game for the month. Melissa has a harsh introduction to the 17th century and a sweet introduction to love, if Alex can explain away his betrayal. This is a truly excellent romance for all those who love stories of the Highlands of Scotland. The countryside and people are described beautifully. The author has given us characters that are so real the reader will feel she knows them. Alex and Melissa's love story is excellent, told with sensitivity and some humor. I loved all of Alex's brothers and would love to read more about Melissa's sisters. This is a great story that I can't recommend highly enough. Reviewed by: Moe811
