The illustrations are beautifully detailed with lots to discuss and to ponder, the sentiments say precisely what is difficult for a parent to articulate to a child, and the verse has a lovely rhythm. My 20 month old and I equally love this book.

This book says everything you ever wanted to say to your child in a simple adorable story - I cried the first time I read it. My 4 year old asks me to read it to him every night ! I strongly recommend this book !

I love this book, and so does my 15 month old little boy. It really tugs at your heartstrings and says all the things I want to say to my son in a beautiful, poetic way. The illustrations are so sweet and beautiful too!

Just discovered this book locally and was delighted! A very deep, heartfelt story of a parent (called "Big"-so could be either gender) sharing his love and advice on life's special moments and challenges with the child while he/she is pretending to sleep. The text is lovely but the illustrations are beautiful and charming too. I can't recommend this book enough!!!

My 4 year old loves it. It's a story in which Small fox pretends he is sleeping while the parent, Big, talks about how important and precious the child is. The illustrations are also well done and lend to further discussion about the story. I've put it on my Christmas list for other children in the family.
