Kate Josephine Bateman was an American actress born to a theatrical family in 1842.

She began appearing on stage at age five. In 1849 she and her sister Ellen, were spotted by the famous showman P.T. Barnum, who hired them to appear at his theater and sponsored their tour of America and Britain starring as The Bateman Children.

From her teens, Bateman started performing in leading Shakespearean and romantic roles in America and later throughout Britain. In 1866, Bateman married George Crowe.

Journeying across time more than 100 years later, Kate makes contact with author George Sewell. Sewell learns from several psychic mediums that he and Kate have known each other through several lifetimes.
