I took a CSET class at Cal State Hayward 2-3 weeks prior to the test and used this as reference and passed. There's no way you'll be able to memorize all the material if you're pressed for time, particularly science. I'd suggest taking the smaller sub practice tests at the end of each chapter, see where you're weak, then study those areas. Once you study, re-do the big test at the end. Find a class if you can.

This is interesting stuff! I only had a week to study, and I passed because of this book. Had I had more time, I would have studied more, and the time would not have been wasted. The authors know what you need to learn to pass the CSET multiple subjects tests, and they present the material well.

I passed all Multiple Subject tests using this book from the library. I also passed CSET Science Subtest I using this book and supplemental videos from Netflix on astronomy and physical sciences. I passed with 4's. I'm ordering it because everyone checked all the copies out of the library and I've got to take Science Subtest II. I was an English major, so I think that says a lot about this book. I actually recognized some of the test questions on the science test from the questions in this book.

i bought this kaplan book and i borrowed barrons from a friend. i don't think i would've made it with the barrons book alone. mostly studied off of kaplan. kaplan definitely had more review material and explains it all to you the way you need to know it for the test. plus it has great study tips and excellent review questions. i have to warn you tho, when i took the actual test i didn't totally feel confident in my answers and with some questions even clueless. i mostly made educated guesses based on what i had studied in the book. well, even tho i wasn't 100% sure about most, i have to say that kaplan must've done something right cuz i passed all three sections my first and only time. it lived up to it's advertisement of "passing score guaranteed".

I have bought a plethora of books on the dreaded CSET, and this book is by far the best. Not only does the book have extensive references such as websites, it also has a website to keep informed about test changes or late-breaking developments. This one is a keeper!
