If you love middle eastern flavors, you will love this cookbook. I lived in Beirut, Lebanon for 5 years over 30 years ago and travelled widely during that time. These recipes and photos took me right back to that happy time: all the wonderful meals we ate with friends and colleagues, with bottle after bottle of their wonderful beer.
The book I purchased is a brand new, hardback version, with numerous photos of plates of gorgeous food. The recipes are well described and written in an easy-to-follow “home town” style. The only word of caution: some of the recipes take quite a bit of time, not because they are difficult, but because of time it takes to chop all the fresh herbs and numerous vegetables. But many are simple and easy to make, especially the snacking types. What a joy it is to make these recipes now. Most of the unique ingredients can be found on Amazon, who ships them Fresh! The ones that cannot be found on Amazon, can be found in specialty stores in large cities in the USA. ENJOY and “mabrouq”.
