Dietary denial is not part of the American dream And now, thanks to internationally renowned food writer Jeanne Jones, Americans can have their cake and eat it too-- Devil's Food Cake with Fudge... This description may be from another edition of this product.
As a fan of Americana and good, home-cooked meals, I was looking for a book like this for a while, and found it here. Almost any well-known American meal/sidedish/dessert is included in the 200 recipes, and the fact that the author has tried to make them low in fat is even better. Each recipe also includes a small paragraph of extra information, which is interesting to read.

I was reciently diagnosed with high cholestrol. I've been haunting the library for cookbooks for food I can eat. This book was sitting on the shelf and reached out and grabbed me. Fried chicken and gravey, wow. This works for me, so I just ordered a copy.
This cookbook presents healthy recipes with great taste!

Jeanne Jones takes a selection of everyone's favorite dishes, cuts the extra fat & calories, and they still taste like Grandma used to make. Her recipes call for ingredients that most well stocked pantries will already have or are readily available at your local grocery store. The foods are hits with adults and children alike. If I had known eating healthy was this tasty and easy, I would have started years ago!
