Only one readable story, out of 3.

Jennifer Crusie’s story is as good as a short story can get. Entertaining and clever with her signature style. I have however read this before in another collection which was disappointing as it was the only worthwhile read here.
The second, by Donna Alward, I struggled to get through - boring, trite and predictable.
However this was better than the third, by Mandy Baxter, which I abandoned after the first chapter in which the two leading characters get together for a lurid one night stand after two minutes of conversation. Yuck!
What editor thought that all these three books would appeal to the same reader?
