This author offers a thorough explanation of social work and global implications. The content of information is current and relevant to the vast aspects of social work on a local and global scale. I especially appreciated the personal narratives included throughout the text which give facts and figures a face. I am also grateful for the expertise and experience of the author which allows her to pull from her own personal experiences from around the world. So oft times books are written by those who have only read of experiences themselves, but this is not so of this author.
