Ms. Taylor's profound execution of the use of metaphors and similies blew me away! Took me way back to my Grandmother's days. I read and enjoyed January Girl so I looked Gloria Taylor up to see her other works. I found this one and was not at all disappointed. Both books are totally different. Almost as if two people wrote them. I enjoyed this one the best. It's a little jumpy but if you stick to it you'll coast through the ending. I wouldn't say this book is predictable although you kinda think what's going to happen and you won't be right all the time. I'm an avid book reader and if I see Goldie Taylor again, I won't hesitate to purchase her works.
