Well-written, well-researched overview of teenage identity

An excellent, well-written, logical, well-researched discussion of the development of adolescent identity. Ms. Jane Kroger examines in her erudite book, Identity in Adolescence, the viewpoints of several prominent scholars in the field of adolescent psychology. These scholars include such notables as Erickson, Kohlberg, Loevinger, Kagan, and Blos. Each of these renowned academics represents adolescent identity growth with a groundbreaking model, which Ms. Kroger expertly critiques and shows its relationship to the other models. After finishing the book, readers will have a better understanding of how teens mature, how they come to see their roles and the roles of others. Additionally important, these readers will have learned about both the indicators of healthy, well-adjusted, achievement-oriented adolescence, and those indicators which suggest a more dysfunctional adolescence. This book is useful for anyone with a strong interest and concern about teens, be they scholars, teachers, or parents. Eric Seel
