Great introduction to hunting the uplands

Reading this book is like listening to a wise old grandfather. Published in 1977, before the development of the super magnum 12 gauge load, there is timeless wisdom contained in these pages that hunters of all levels should heed. In an age where "bigger" seems to be universally equated with "better", the author reminds us why this is not necessarily so in upland game hunting. Despite the fact that the book was published more than a generation ago, the descriptions of upland quarry (their habits and habitats), recommendations of gun and load, and hunting techniques are still relevant for today's hunter. While primarily for the hunter who is new to upland game, it contains tips and hints for everyone. The book is divided into two sections: the first is birds and shotguns, the second is deer and rifles.
