Humu - his Hawaiian name is Humuhumunukunukuapuaa - is a beautiful but shy fish who wishes he was all one color, like his two best friends. Unhappy with the way he looks, Humu swims far, far from... This description may be from another edition of this product.
We read this book about a month ago to my son (who has Autism) and my neice (who is neo-typical) and they both LOVED it! Both just turned 5 years old, but I'm sure most children ages 3 to 6 would like it. My son wants to read it almost every night now before going to bed. The story has a good message about accepting and liking yourself. There is also a cute little sea star to find on every page. Will be sharing this book with the children in my psychotherapy practice along with getting some of the other books in this series.
Nice message

My 4 1/2 year old had this book read to her preschool class, and she really loved it and wouldn't stop talking about the story, so I ordered it for her. It sends a really nice message to children that it's okay to be different. The illustrations are beautiful. We haven't listened to the CD yet as we thought we would be able to listen to it in out car, but we're not able to. It is a mini CD that isn't able to play in our car.

This is a great book and I love it!! Humu doesn't like his flashy colors and he tries to change his color. After he lost his color, his friends didn't recognize him. Buy this book and find out what happpens. I got this book from the beautiful state of Hawai'i and it shows in the pictures.
