From Simon & Schuster, How to Stop the Battle with Your Teenager is Don Fleming's practical guide to solving everyday problems. Are you at your wit's end trying to deal with your teenager? Unsure of how to handle those tough problems that so often become a battleground? Help is here in this refreshing, practical guide that offers workable advice.
I bought this book over ten years ago, when I was unable to control my teenage son. I was at the end of my rope and out of ideas. This book showed me all the ways I was defeating myself, and I began trying out the techniques it taught. They worked like a charm and made perfect sense. Ten years ago, I thought my son was destined for prison...today, he's the best of the brood. I've recommended this book to countless people with problem teens over the years. It worked so well for me, that I'll continue to recommend it for the rest of my days. I have so much faith in these techniques, I even bought a copy of "How to Stop the Battle with Your Child" for my daughter who has two autistic children. Both books are excellent!

As a school psychologist, and the mother of a seventeen year old daughter who has been diagnosed with ADHD, I found this book amazingly helpful. It has many pragmatic answers, and down to earth advice about how to handle many situations that arise while raising a teenager, such as how to deal with the "I want a car," dilemma to smoking, staying in school, etc. This book teaches how to really communicate with your teenager in a sane and non-threatening way so they might actually LISTEN to you. I highly recommend this book.
