I've read a few accounting texts and this is by far the most useful. Why? It assumes readers don't know anything and it manages to clearly explain concepts and terminology without intimidating the reader, a heck of an achievement. Even more important to anyone who actually wants to use this material, Loth shows step-by-step how to construct spreadsheets to analyze annual report information. Oh, and did you see the price? Good Entry in Annual Reports Reading

This book is a fast and easy read introduction in Annual Reports Analysing. Nevertheless it has a lot of interesting and important information with a lot of "reading between the lines". It covers not only the financials but also the shareholder's letter and other parts of the annual report. The author doesn't dwell too much on academic and theoretical thoughts but tells his experiences. It's also a good introduction for European people like me, who aren't yet accustomed to U.S. annual reports. The only thing I miss is a new edition because of the facts that yet 7 years have passed since the lastest edition.
