He's on Top pays homage to those irresistible men who control their partners with a glance, a tickling whip, or a measured smack on the bottom. As true tops, the bossy hunks in these stories... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I am not into the entire maledom/femsub thing -- personally I think we get enough of that in our everyday lives still. Therefore I rarely read this orientation in erotic fiction. Usually when I have I am insulted as a woman and turned off. While I cannot say that any of the stories in this collection -- 17 stories in all- turned me on, they certainly did not insult me. The men here are not stereotypes or macho[...]using BDSM as a guise for abuse. The women are not nymphos or brainless puppets. The dynamics of most of the relationships are rather romantic in motivate and the vast majority are well written and complex. I appreciate the lack of stereotypes and the promotion of loving, consensual and beneficial Ds and SM.

This was my husband's book and I found it tucked under a pile of news papers. He doesn't know I've read it yet so I'm going to surprise him by acting out one of the stories for him. I like the format of this book and the subject is one that I have just started to take an interest in. Although it deals with male dominance it favours the woman's point of view and indeed it can be argued that the female is in fact the one in control. Very good and highly recommended, also have a look at Shayla Blacks Wicked Ties; it touches on similar ground, but in novel form rather than short stories. But for the connoisseur of steamy erotic short stories you must look at Suzie Van Aartman's 100 Percent Erotica What it lacks in literary finesse, it more than makes up for in pure unadulterated, passionate sex. Thank you again Rachel for a superb collection of erotic stories.
A great companion to She's on Top

I love all of Rachel Kramer Bussel's work. I found this to not be too BDSM but more about psychological dominance. Especially "Not Until Dawn". Next time I have a boyfriend, I'm going to make him read this book, especially that story. Picture perfect way to tempt, tease, and "torture" a woman. If you're a guy you can definitely pick up tips. I also really enjoyed "On the Twelfth Day", which is about a man who has twelve days to introduce kinkier games to his girlfriend. I can see me doing this as well. She's On Top is also an excellent book. Can't wait for Yes, Sir and Yes, Ma'am, which are like these books but told from the submissives point of view. They're due out in February 2008. You won't regret buying this book.

Like its companion volume SHE'S ON TOP (ISBN:1573442690) HE'S ON TOP explores Dominant/submissive erotic adventure from the point of view of the Dominant, but in this case it is the male who takes control. Edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel, this book of tales skillfully avoids the potential pitfalls of its theme. Men dominating women sexually is a loaded topic that in the wrong hands could produce a portrait of vulgar degradation. But in Ms. Bussel's hands it is always clear that no one is doing anything against their will - these women enjoy freely giving control to their male doms, and find much reward in doing so. The anthology begins with N.T. Morley's "Not Until Dawn," a tale of exquisite erotic tension where a man repeatedly brings his lover to the edge of climax but stops just short of actual orgasm. When he finally gives his woman what she wants the result is a mind-blowing release of pleasure. Other standouts include: "Yes" by Donna George Storey is a scorchingly hot tale wherein a man's aphrodisiac is his woman's willingness to do anything for him - including being given to his friend for a short time to use as he pleases. "A Good Reference" by Mackenzie Cross is a perfect answer to anyone who wonders what rewards Dominant/submissive play has in store for those in indulge in it. Andrea Dale's "On The Twelfth Day..." is a beautiful Christmas present unwrapped over twelve days, and proves that romance is alive and well in the heart of BDSM. "Brianne's Fire" by Amanda Earl is the story of a Master conductor's seduction of his star violinist, or is it the other way around? The story is a masterpiece, a fantasia of sensory details so vivid the reader feels like they've smelled the roses, tasted the wine and felt the leather on their own skin. HE'S ON TOP concludes with a Master-ful (pun intended) tale called "Schoolgirl and Angel." Set in a BDSM club called The Sanctuary, the story shows a young leather Daddy finally becoming the best Master he can be with the erotic encouragement of two remarkable women, one his partner and the other a mesmerizing stranger. HE'S ON TOP is a fabulous collection of hotter-than-hot stories of women and the male dominants they - freely, joyfully, and erotically - give up control to. Highly recommended.
