A fine novel of change and acceptance emerges.

Ages 10-14 will find Hearts of Iron totally engrossing; from its lovely color art to the story of Jessie, a dreamer who wants to leave for adventure, and Lucy, who can't ever imagine leaving her mountain home. The two are best friends - and in 1920 the face many changes and different goals which place them at odds with family and each other. Can their very different perspectives find love nonetheless? A fine novel of change and acceptance emerges.
