When an abortion clinic burns to the ground, Suzie O'Dell, a college student on the clinic's board, is charged with the crime. In the face of daunting evidence to the contrary, a pro-life group hires Peter Barron to fight the charges in federal court.
The characters: Dr. Rhonda Marsano, Catholic and personally opposed, but working off med school debt in an abortion clinic; her lover Vince, leading a double life as a zealous evangelical as well as undercover operative for the absentee clinic owners; Colonel Danners running the pro-life presence picketing the clinic in Bellingham, WA; Susie O'Dell, an innocent college student framed by her friend Stephen and charged with murder and arson; Peter Barron, the attorney we met in Farris's book, An Anonymous Tip; and his wife Gwen who is expecting their first child, and objecting to her husband spending so much time away. Fun read for the reviewer because the action takes place in the Pacific Northwest. The villain dies in the Columbia River after falling off the bridge fighting with a hit man sent by the clinic owners. Brain candy, but a fun read.
An awesome legal thriller you won't be able to put down!
