Everything about this book IS genuinely life-giving and I can’t say enough to recommend it to parents of all ages, aunts and uncles, teachers, anyone in a position to speak life into children’s lives. It was such an encouragement to me as a mother, and I’m currently rereading it to help more of the ideas and thoughts presented to stay in my mind and influence my perspective. There’s so much I could share from it but here’s just one small example of the many takeways from this book that have challenged and inspired me: in chapter three, the writers discuss how children need casual, unhurried talking and we must be strategic about having meaningful conversations with them. It sounds so simple, and yet it requires us to give up our passivity and converse with intentionality and often forethought. Learning how to reserve time for intentional conversations is something our family has done but in the last few years it’s been more marginalised the busier we’ve become. This was an inspiration and a reminder to me to make time for this once again!
Sally and Clay have hit a home run again!

Sally has done it again! Her and Clay have a wonderful way with writing about words that just makes sense. I’m so glad that I have found this book at this time in my life. Such knowledge and wisdom. Would recommend to anyone and everyone!
