George and Annie explore the galaxy in this cosmic adventure from Stephen Hawking and Lucy Hawking, complete with essays from Professor Hawking about the latest in space travel. George is heartbroken when he learns that his friend Annie and her father are moving to the US. Eric has a new job working for the space program, looking for signs of life in the Universe. Eric leaves George with a gift--a book called The User's Guide to the Universe . But Annie and Eric haven't been gone for very long when Annie believes that she is being contacted by aliens, who have a terrible warning for her. George joins her in the US to help her with her quest--and before he knows it, he, Annie, Cosmos, and Annie's annoying cousin Emmett have been swept up in a cosmic treasure hunt, spanning the whole galaxy and beyond. Lucy Hawking's own experiences in zero-gravity flight and interviews with astronauts at Cape Kennedy and the Johnson Space Center lend the book a sense of realism and excitement that is sure to fire up imaginations. The book includes essays written by Professor Hawking and his colleagues, in which they provide the latest thoughts on space travel.

My seven year old loves anything to do with science, but did not love reading. I bought these two books hoping that he would enjoy me reading them to him. He loved them!!! I did too actually. They were so interesting and fun. I wish there were more of them or other books as good.

Excellent book. My nine year-old son ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. And he is notorious for losing interest in a story. I wish there were more like this.
A kid's review for kids

George's Cosmic Treasure Hunt is a mystery/adventure type of book. I like it because it creates lots of suspense, and that makes you want to read more and more. It's like it hypnotizes you, but in a good way. I like everything in the book - although I wish they met a real alien. That would be cool. If you liked the first book in this series, George's Secret Key to the Universe, you'll LOVE this one!! I really hope the Hawkings write more in the series!
A Brilliant Book

George's Cosmic Treasure Hunt is a treasure in itself! It takes readers, young and old, into new and real worlds. Garry Parson's illustrations are lively and original, brilliantly executed and full of interest. They enhance the text but are captivating in their own right.
Completely engrossing for my 9 year old

We have a hard time getting our 9 year old to read anything but comics or other illustrated stories. But he loved "George's Secret Key to the Universe", though mostly we read it to him. He's reading "Cosmic Treasure Hunt" all on his own, and really can't put it down. Since I'm not reading it to him this time I can't tell you much about it, but 5 stars from my young reader.
