Our author hits all the highlights, from the Ryman Auditorium and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville to Beale Street and the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis. She's checked out all the cities' best hotels and restaurants in person, and offers authoritative, candid reviews that will help you find the choices that suit your tastes and budget. You'll also get up-to-the-minute coverage of shopping and nightlife in both cities; in-depth coverage of the respective music scenes; detailed walking tours; accurate neighborhood maps; advice on planning a successful family vacation; and side trips to distilleries and Civil War battlefields.
It's good and will give you the basics, but you will need to dig more on your own. However it did make us decide that Nashville was not for us...........So that makes it worth it!

2006 edition, but certainly still 99.5% on target. Arrived especially fast from this secondary seller. It always amazes me that people plan a vacation and won't spend a few bucks on a guide book for the area. Definitely worth buying.
A Great Overview of Two Great Cities!

I didn't see Memphis but I wished that I had. I bought two books on Nashville and I believe this book is better suited for the tourist. I can't comment on Memphis. This book has maps, information, and plenty of resources in making your trip to Memphis and Nashville a lot easier. The book is more than adequate but both cities deserve their own book edition.
Great Travel Guide

I just came back from my first trip to Memphis and Nashville. I have to say that this book was my life source. We only had a limited amount of time to see everything on our wish list, and this book made it possible to plan the best sites, the best restaurants, where to stay, shop and everything. All of the information it gave was useful and was essential to our amazing trip. They even include fun and comprehensive walking tours. I would recommend this book to anyone going to Nash and Memphis.

Frommer's Nashville & Memphis is a comprehensive yet easy to read travel book. I especially liked the list of "must-do" items if you only have a few days to tour, which was the case with me. It's broken down in an organized fashion with sections on restaurants, nightlife, attractions, etc. The maps in each section were particularly helpful.
