This is tale of a growing girl fighting for independence in rural England. After Ellen runs away from home, she learns that life is very different and far more cruel than her girlhood imaginings. Even so, she is still able to cope better than her young and impulsive best friend, Kitty, and soon learns to feel her resentment. The story takes us into Ellen's adult life where she is forced to eventually face all the decisions she has made and take responsibility for her questionable actions. An amazing story perfect for any young teenage girl with a bit of spirit.
