After Kurt Wheelock was thrown out of the UN for digging and blogging about Secretary General Antonio Guterres' links to the China Energy Fund Committee, he found himself down in DC, covering the spy trial of Pras Michel of the Fugees. Pras was charged with working for Chinese intelligence, trying to get Miles Guo Wengui extradited to China, at the request of Jho Low. Kurt covered the Jho Low case too, even with Jho Low absconded to China. It was in Federal court not in Manhattan but Brooklyn. On trial a former banker from Goldman Sachs, testified against by a cooperator who had been further up in the chain of command, along with Russell Simmon's ex-wife. Down in DC, Pras was caught and convicted, after seeking unsuccessfully to have Guo brought from jail as a witness (Chapter ); Guo himself was arrested and put on trial for financial fraud. During the US versus Miles Guo trial, which Kurt Wheelock also live tweeted as he'd used to in the UN, Guo's lawyers claimed that the Chinese government's "Operation Fox Hunt" involved getting Chinese people in the US to file complaints with the SEC and prosecutors, about getting defrauded by Guo's commercial ventures. The prosecutors elicited testimony about a Lamborghini Guo had bought, and him paying $90,000 to have a yacht shipped to him in Connecticut, from Genoa, Italy.
