Pastor Jerome Tyler "JT" Thomas is charismatic behind the pulpit, charming to all he comes in contact with, and lethal to those who linger too long. Since the age of twenty-two, when he prayed for God to keep him out of prison, JT knew he would preach the gospel. Bishop Turner makes it possible; but there are strings attached, and now JT isn't sure he can stay tied down. Cutting loose causes more problems than JT anticipated. When an old friend from his days on the streets resurfaces and his "extracurricular activity" comes knocking on his front door, JT's life and the lives of those close to him spiral out of control. Now he will need divine intervention to make things right. But how much help can a man hope to receive when he feels he's been forsaken by God?
Pastor Jerome Tyler "JT" Thomas has many secrets that come to life in Forsaken by Vanessa Miller. He has been living a life of sin and that life has finally caught up with him. After a tragedy led him to one night of crime, he decided to live his life according to God's will. Bishop Turner had a great influence on helping JT become pastor. He also introduced him to Cassandra. Life could not be any better until heartbreak entered their marriage. He thought God had given up on him and forsaken him. His trust faltered and JT did not know how to handle it. He began turning to other things and cheating on his wife, Cassandra, with different women in his congregation. Cassandra puts up with all she can. When the women become bold and start to threaten her family, she has to pull out. Will their marriage withstand JT's infidelity? Miller knows how to pull you in immediately with her great descriptions and character development. There are several twists to the plot that will keep you turning the pages. I cannot wait to read the other books in this series. If you enjoyed the Rain and the Storm series, you will definitely enjoy this one. Donnica Copeland APOOO BookClub Sista Talk Book Club
Forgive and Forget?

For such a serious topic, I found myself cracking up at several parts in this book. I have read other books where husbands are acting crazy, but I think what I most enjoyed more about this story was that while there clearly were good guys and bad guys, throughout the whole book, I kept trying to decide which side JT (the husband) was on. One minute I liked him, the next minute I was ready to hurt him myself (no need for Jimmy or that good and throwed-off Vivian). I'm glad to know that there will be a sequel because JT is still in the dog house with me! Great job, Vanessa!

I read Forsaken in one evening! Vanessa is definitely an annointed writer! JT - A pastor fallen from grace. How many times does this happen in everyday life? Many! It is refreshing to have read this book. People need to truly understand that Pastors are human too. And with that being said, they are also capable of being redeemed. All of the characters in this book are well developed and you can relate to them in real life. Keep on writing Vanessa! And I'll keep on readindg!

Wow, where do I start? Vanessa Miller is an anointed author. She has a way of captivating her readers from the first few pages. Forsaken was a great read. The drama that transpires will have you laughing out loud. My bookclub had the pleasure of breaking biscuits w/Vanessa in Atlanta, she is so warm and oh so real. Her books are truly a reflection of her. I would recommend this book to other book clubs. Especially if you enjoy Christian Fiction. You will not be disappointed!
BOOK WITH A DIVINE PURPOSE
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 15 years ago
When I tell you that this book was written under the anointing, please believe me! It's not your typical novel/fiction in which it just tells a story to appease the readers or conveys a message that readers can relate to. It does that and more! It KEEPS the presence of God in the book and actually causes a spiritual uprising in the reader (well it did in me). My soul was blessed by reading the story of someone who once was so connected with God but because they allowed the enemy to seep into their thought pattern, they lost faith & trust in God and this resulted in them feeling FORSAKEN. But through it all, the main character was convinced that no matter what it took, he was going to regain his position back in the Kingdom. I also love how the author ends her books with a heavenly take on the matter. She always depicts the reaction of the angels in heaven from how the main character transforms their life. Man, again, I was truly blessed by this and look forward to the next book in this series...FORGIVEN
