Many folk art techniques, such as sponging and spattering, are suitable for use on ceramic surfaces. This volume encourages the combination of folk art style and ceramic painting techniques. This description may be from another edition of this product.
As someone who was expecting a book with an array of ceramics in a folk art style, I was disappointed. I don’t do my proper research beforehand, so here’s to helping you avoid the same. This is not a book that is particularly informative about folk art ceramics but rather provides step by step for building and underglaze/glazing specific ceramic projects such as plates and tea sets and pitchers in a specific folk-artsy artist style. If you’re interested in recreating some 90s folk kitchenware this book may interest you, it has some color photo pages and is mostly black and white instructions.
