European cruising is growing by double-digits. By 2013, there will be more cruise ships in European waters than in any year since modern leisure cruising began. European river cruises have also grown immensely in recent years; in 2012, for example, river cruises accounted for more than half of new cruise-ship launches. With detailed profiles of every major European cruise line and ship, not to mention concise and practical overviews of more than 80 top cruise ports and a practical cruise primer, this guide offers European cruise passengers everything they need to know to plan and make the most of their Europe cruise. Competitive Advantage: This guide provides detailed reviews of every major and minor cruise line sailing in Europe that markets to North Americans. Special sections are devoted to river and barge cruises and foreign-language cruise lines. Combined with detailed overviews of more than 80 ports, this is the most wide-ranging, detailed guide to European cruising available. New Coverage: New ships, more cruise lines (both ocean-going and river-cruising), and more ports have been added throughout the book. Indispensable Trip Planning Tools: Fodor's give cruise ship passengers all the planning tools they need to tailor their sailing and choose the cruise that suits them best: reviews of cruise lines and ships, overviews of all the major European cruise itineraries, and a practical cruise primer cover what's included (and not) in the fare, and how to enjoy time on board. Money-Saving Tips: Cruise passengers never need to book another high-priced shore excursion again. With comprehensive sightseeing and shopping coverage, this guide provides everything the traveler needs to know so that they can hit the highlights of every major European cruise port in just a few hours on their own. Discerning Recommendations: Fodor's The Complete Guide to European Cruises, 3rd Ed. offers savvy advice and recommendations from expert and local writers to help travelers make the most of their time. the book has alot of information - things I hadn't thought of like ways to change money, and ways to save money on hotels and food. But difficult to navigate. If I wanted to find that part about using your credit card in Switzerland - I don't think I could find it!
Beautiful Country, Great Book to see the best of it.

I was very pleased with what I got out of this book during my recent Swiss travels. It explained money, manners, fashion, money, sites, tourism and everything else we needed to know. Definitely worth having. It wasn't too big for a backpack either.

Wherever I go I use Fodors guides. I just got back from Europe and Fodors found unique places, great restaurants and comfortable hotels all at reasonable (for Europe) prices. Follow the orange or black stars, you can't go wrong.
