Finally, we get the love story we have been waiting for the first two books to read! This was a wholly satisfying and complete ending to the Flambards trilogy, with Christina bringing Flambards back to life even as she comes to terms with her losses. We've known since the first book that she and Dick had a special friendship; we've known since the second book that she has learned to value people for their merit rather than their class; in this book, both of those things come together as she teams up with Dick to restore Flambards and eventually falls in love with him all over again. The book ends with the two of them looking forward to their future together. Warning: If you liked this book, do yourself a favor and do not read "Flambards Divided," the supposed sequel to it. You will end up as depressed and angry with Ms. Peyton as I did. I have decided that, like "Highlander 2," that book simply never happened.

I absolutely loved all the books in this series. This one is very good and she is older so the story is a little more complex but all the characters are basically the same. read it!
