James JD Dawson grew up in the hood, but left a lifeof violence three thousand miles behind to makesomething of himself at University of Atlanta. But whenthe freshman got off to a fool's start--kicking it with hisnew homeboys, showing up late to class, not studyingand checking out the shorties--JD was assigned a tutor, the luscious Katrina Turner. She made studying real fun.But if JD wanted to get with a girl like Katrina, he'd alsohave to learn to grow up.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it for all high school seniors and college students! The story was well written, and contained important information about many relevant issues facing young adults today as they enter college. Cecil Cross II is a very impressive young author who demonstrated his ability to convey life experiences in language that young people understand and can relate to. I hope there will be a sequel,so we see that the ultimate goal for every college student is to obtain their degree. The first semester of college is just the beginning of one of the best times in life.

This is a great book to read. It bought back so many true college freshman experiences. The book has so much detail that although my freshman year was back in 2000 it bought me back to my 1st day of my freshman year

I could not put it down. I would not consider myself a fast reader but I finished this book in 3 days. It is so incredibly accurate, the dialogue and the situations enthralled me. This is an amazing book which will take you back to your college days whether male or female. I could relate to the pressures of class work, pledging and social life! I love the humor I could see my college friends saying and doing the exact things! The real life issues dealt within this book are extremely well played out and informative. I read, I laughed, I panicked and I learned from this book! I highly recommend it!

I really enjoyed this book. I have been out of college for about 10 years. But reading this book took me back to freshman year. I liked how the book showed almost every aspect of college from the classroom to the the Caf to the parties. I would recommend this book to anyone starting college, trying to decide if they want to go to college, or have graduated (b/c it will bring back memories). Good job Cecil. Keep it up.
