Taylor Harrison is an attorney and confirmed bachelor. His grandfather's near-death experience has taken him from his comfortable life in Portland to the lush scenery of Seattle, Washington. Convinced that the attempt on his grandfather's life and the death of his grandfather's partner are connected he begins an investigation which leads him directly to Melia Lucas. Melia is a chef and cooking instructor still dealing with the tragic death of both her parents years ago. The police ruled the deaths a murder/suicide but Melia has always been suspicious. Now that she's being pressured by her second family to sell her land and the appearance of Taylor and all his questions, she's wondering if there was more to her parents' death than she'd first thought. For lovers of suspense, like myself, this is a must read. Unraveling the mystery of forged real estate documents and dead bodies all over Seattle was definitely a treat. However, for a romance novel, the romance seemed secondary to the suspense. All in all, Family Bonds was a good read and should definitely be purchased by the avid romantic suspense reader.
