My mother bought this book for my 5.5 year old daughter. She picked it simply because the cover featured a ballarina. When she got the book home, however, she was unsure about her choice because the book contained no pictures. Also, this would be her 1st chapter book. My husband read one chapter per night to my daughter. She was hooked from the start. And so was I. The story is well paced and engaging. My child was drawn into Rose's story and truely worried about the trouble Rose and Kieran got into. She was also fasinated to learn that boys took ballet, too. We all enjoyed the book so much that we've ordered the other 6 in this series.
