An overview of the computer animation field offers practical tips and techniques for animating faces and figures, creating a demonstration reel, and getting an interview with an animation studio. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book really has it all. Everything from the bouncing ball tutorial to a fully realized short animation script, this is a great resource for all aspects of character animation, not just the nuts and bolts of Lightwave. Not to say that this is light on the program itself, Mr. Kelly really comes through with those details as well.Aside from the reprinting issue, if you have Lightwave, are working on a demo reel, trying to get a handle on the million things that go into even a 30 second animation, or even if you already have a reel, but need to 'tighten it up', this is the book for you.
A Well Done Update

This is a good book. All of the criticisms about the rewrite are valid, but, in this version of this book we are fortunate that the author was able to focus more on the 6 upgrade of Lightwave. I counted over 100 pages of the book devoted particularly to constraints. (Ablan's book has 2 pages). This is a nutritious update to a fast moving target, and my only regret that he couldn't update it after 6.5, or 7 also......Your Mileage May Vary, I liked it.
