The great northeast power blackout of 2003 left 55 million people in eight states and Canada in the dark. By the time power was restored 24 hours later, the blackout had cost six billion dollars and resulted in eleven deaths. Now a group of eco-terrorists, aided by Arab extremists, is planning to do it again. Peter Bradovich, a Consulting Engineer who in a past life spent time in the Middle East as a "Contractor" unwillingly becomes drawn in to this sinister conspiracy. While Peter is driving to work into a distracting March sunrise, he sees a 140 foot cell phone tower crash to the ground for no apparent reason. His natural curiosity leads him to investigate the incident. When Peter uncovers some curious facts and meets some unsettling people, he calls his son Mike, a U.S. Marshall. Mike contacts Homeland Security, who then tap into Peter's military intelligence background. Before Peter fully realizes what is happening, HS leans on him to begin investigating the incident.Peter befriends Gregory, one of the unsettling people he serendipitously met at the cell tower site. Gregory, a young college student, turns out to be the leader of the eco-terrorist group. As Gregory becomes more trusting of Peter, he shares more information with him and introduces him to his co-conspirators. Peter joins the group, and he becomes a spy for Homeland Security!
