Words cannot express the feelings of the heart, so it is a must read book to understand and to know the joy the mass has to offer. While I was reading this book I realized the difference it makes when you prepare yourself for such an important meeting with the Lord. After all, does one go to an event without preparing for it? You prepare speeches for a talk, you take a long time to dress for a date, you lose weight to look good in a bikini. Why don't we prepare our hearts, minds and bodies for a meeting with the Prince of Peace, our Lord Jesus Christ before we go to mass. As my spiritual director once told me, if the Queen of England invited you to her home, would you go half naked, unprepared in your mind for what she might ask of you, untrained with how one needs to behave in her presence? Need I say more?
