Stuck in a Rut with your PR? This Book Will Stir Your Creativity
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 16 years ago
This book is loaded with ideas and creative energy about how some outrageous PR stunts were created then executed. The book is a quick read yet loaded with solid information for every reader. In particular I like the summary sections at the end of each chapter simply called "Take Away" or "What We Learned From This Chapter." While many of these lessons are basic commonsense, such logic seems to often go out the window when dealing with the media. Peter Shankman gives straightforward advice in his book. I recommend it.
A Must-Read for PR Folks
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 18 years ago
This is the best PR/Advertising book to come along since Jerry Della Femina's classic, "From the Folks Who Brought You Pearl Harbor." Shankman is witty and easy to read; but, more important, he offers insightful information for the PR practitioner on how to make a client stand out from the crowd. Even better, his guidance is based on practical experience, not theoretical speculation -- Peter's been there; he's done it; and he's done it (mostly) with wild success. But even the few failures provide grist for his educational how-to approach. As one who has generated a lot of favorable publicity over the years for my own company and for outside clients, I think I'd have been able to do even a better job at it if I'd had Peter's book to read a few decades ago. Shankman is a valuable resource for everyone in PR, but for people early in their careers, his book is priceless.
