The screams still haunt Anna. First, the driving rain. Then the train, emerging from the darkness. She remembers the fear, and climbing onto the beam of the bridge. And she remembers falling. . . .... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book is the best I have ever read. You can say that you will just read a chapter, but you won't. You'll just get sucked in. Throughout the book it gets more and more interesting. There is so many good things that happen that you can't list them all. You have to read Bridging Beyond if you like kids, thrill, suspence, or a good read!
A Fabulous Book!! A++++

Kathleen Duble's "Bridging Beyond" is a great find. My 12-year old read this book with me and was fascinated by the characters, plot, and the idea of genetic memory. She says "the book gives you lots of twists and turns, and the ending is not what you think it is." I wholly enjoyed this book. The setting is described extremely well, the characters are well-rounded, and Anna, the main character, is amiable, funny, and as curious as a regular teenager should be. But by far the plot is the best part. The twists and turns leave you not wanting to ever put it down. The story spins a tale of grief, self-blame, and in the end, finally, forgiveness. I would recommend this book to anyone over the age of 8.

A great summer read.

Benner-Duble has written a fast-paced story that gives a realistic interpretation of the way in which an ordinary teen might psychologically react to the aftermath of an accident that she must take some responsibility for. The author has given the reader a memorable heroine, a girl who gets caught up in a familiar milieu of parties and alcohol with tragic consequences. The book captured the quality and tenor of teenaged friendships in a well drawn portrayal of a group of "good kids" who take ill-considered risks. These portrayals lead to dramatic situations in the plot that are quite suspenseful. The interesting treatment of "genetic memory" will appeal to the most reluctant reader, turning a compelling character study into a convincing mystery. It is a book that can be enjoyed on many levels. A great summer read for those aged 13 to 15.
