The truth is simple but the perspective is revolutionary. Terry Esau tells stories of a God who became regular, approachable, and accessible- not because He had to- but because He wanted to. Imagine God as a cab driver, a garbage man, or an insurance salesman- these are the stories of a God who went to great lengths to erase the distance, close the gap, and become one of us so we would truly know the extent of His love for us. But turn the book over and meet the White Collar God: the galactic CEO, the big I Am, the artist extraordinaire. In this book, we see both sides of the Creator-transcendent, yet accessible.
In "Blue Collar God" Esau airdrops God into our world, and the splash is significant. It soaked me, anyhow, in a good way. I loved this book!
Read it once, then again to your children

The best gift you can give yourself is to read this book out loud to children. Not only are they great stories to read, but like poetry they come alive and take on a new dimension when you hear them being read aloud. I suddenly found another layer to each tale as I read them to my 13 and my 16 year old son. We have given several of them to friends as Christmas gifts. When you read the book, you will know why. The author has a great folksy style, rich with symbolism.
Hardly typical

This is not your typical Christian book. It didn't feel or sound religious, but still hit hard. Stunning word pictures. Unique settings. Esau definitely strays outside the lines...I like that. This book is certainly worth your time and $s.
Amazing stories

I've read the book and have heard the author read the stories. Every time I read the stories I see more examples of incredible writing and how incredible God's work is in my life. Esau grabs your attention and then reveals surprise endings with potent meanings. Great for everyone in your life. I gave it to my parents for their 35th wedding anniversary.
Amazingly Creative

These stories are incredible. I got chills while reading them. They are the type that, after reading, make you want to phone your best friend and tell it again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I'm giving this as a gift to dozens of friends this Christmas.
