Eleanor Sanders runs a daily newspaper in Alabama the way she runs her life--with no nonsense and no hint of scandal. But when fast-living playboy Jake Mason's family business forces him to leave New York to buy out her small-town newspaper, the sparks fly. Then the wacky schemes of two well-meaning matchmakers make Eleanor and Jake realize that when it comes to affairs of the heart, love makes its own rules.
I enjoyed "Between the Lines" as I do all the Angela Benson novels I have read. It was a lighthearted, easy to read, nicely moving, and sometimes hilarious story. I particularly enjoyed the by-play with the two old friends. I thought that the new relationship between Eleanor and Jake's friends was a trifle overdone (though given the degree of animosity which existed, probably deservedly so). All in all a good read, I thought.
One of the best I've read all year.

Between the lines was very fun to read. I almost read the whole book at one time. What a romance story.Tere
