Answers for Beginners

The "50 essential questions and answers" presented in this book should provide the average beginner with some increased knowledge and confidence in taking on the guitar, whether acoustic or electric. My only disappointment was that more than half of the book covers topics such as types of guitars, choosing a guitar and equipment and rather basic advice such as choosing a teacher and overcoming shyness; topics which actually may provide the most benefit to a pre-beginner. I found the most benefit in such topics as tackling barre chords and making smooth changes. There should be plenty of additional information to cover in follow up books on more advanced methods. Overall, the book should provide enough useful information to be appreciated for less than the price of a single private lesson.
