The ending to this delightful book is indeed a happy one--for the cat, for the narrator, and for the listener. The scene is bedtime, but where is the cat? Eating or napping or hiding? All no. This description may be from another edition of this product.
Our family are true cat people. We have two cats, one of whom sleeps in the bed with our daughter. This book is wonderful for her because she can really relate to the little girl who looks for her cat all around the house one night only to find it in the most logical place -- her bed, waiting. This book is a great, short read that never gets tiresome for the child (or parent). The illustrations are charming, and the book is a great lesson in where lost items (or cats) might be. When my daughter loses a toy in the house, we go all around looking for it just as the little girl does here looking for her cat. The temporary loss of the toy becomes an opportunity to have fun looking for it, rather than a reason to panic or cry. It's also just a great bedtime book. Perfect!
