Beasts In My Bed - Jacquie Durrell This completely enjoyable book was written by the first wife of the late Gerald Durrell (the widely respected animal conservationist and author), and tells of their meeting , first animal collection trips from the female point of view. The authoress has a witty, dry sense of humour and introduces us to the various characters that we also met in "My Family And Other Animals" at a later time in life. The book is made especially enjoyable by the fact that her husband then read and made his own often contradictory footnotes in his wellknown , famous understated humor. A book for animal lovers and for those who enjoyed the works of Gerald Durrell and for those who need a laugh .Published in 1967 - Collins - London
