A body in the bayou. Alligator conservationist Coco LeBlanc knew real fear when she found a body in the clutches of her beloved beasts. Fear turned to horror when she saw that it was one of the Trahan... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This is such a great book! It completely immersed this Hawaii-grown-California-girl in the Southern Cajun culture without making me feel like I've landed on another planet. The setting is like another character in the story, incorporating everything from alligators to Confederate history to voodoo. CoCo is a spitfire and I loved her. If you like strong heroines, this is the chick for you. I also loved the strong family ties of both CoCo and Luc. Despite CoCo's nonChristian family, she loves them fiercely and their bonds are strong. None of the sisters are afraid to tell another what they think of their actions, which cracked me up since it's so much like me and my spiritual sisters in Christ. Luc's family has its problems, but they're loyal and caring for each other. The suspense plot has tons of twists and turns. The mystery never lets up for a second--problems crop up left and right, new suspects, new motives. I felt like anybody could be the murderer up until the last few pages. The ending (solving the mystery part) is a bit rushed, but everything resolves nicely. This is a great book for a teen or preteen, because it's got romance, suspense, and culture, and it's completely appropriate for readers as young as 6th grade. I actually intend to hand this to a few of the junior highers and high schoolers I work with at church because I think they'll really like it.

As a fellow Louisiana gal, I heartily give this debut novel two thumbs-up! Robin has dropped loveable, realistic characters smack down into a unique and oh so dangerous bayou setting that leaves you on the edge of your seat! This is more than just a classic "who dun it" story, one you do not want to miss! And guess what - its a series. Can't beat that =) So what are you waiting for? Click that order button!!
Bayou Justice Peppered with Cajun Flare!

Bayou Justice (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense) is peppered with Robin's Cajun flare and spice. The plot is well-structured and her main characters are strong and believable as they work together to solve the murder plaguing the town of Lagniappe. Robin's amazing ability to weave in culture and history carry this story in a compelling manner that is indicative of her unique, saucy style. She had my mouth watering for etouffee and sweat dribbling down my back from the smothering heat. Bayou Justice is a must read!
Great suspense!

I love a book that takes me somewhere interesting and teaches me something while leaving me on the edge of my seat. Bayou Justice does just that. An alligator conservationist is the main character and the book has a great plot all around Confederate coins with an interesting subplot about voodoo. I was hooked from the first sentence. Great debut by a talented author. I'll be watching for more by Caroll!
Southern Suspense at its best

From the first line of chapter one, I was swept into the story and setting. This book is so tightly woven into the Louisiana Bayou that it could not take place anywhere else. And the setting propels the story forward by providing a rich array of subplots. Coco and Luc are well-developed characters with enough history between them to keep the romance and suspense interesting. Add in the fight between voodoo and Christianity, and there's enough conflict to populate several books. I enjoyed this book, and think you will too if you are looking for a book balanced between romance and suspense.
