As studies show and parents can attest, baby massage can encourage bonding between parents and children, soothe fussiness, and even encourage growth. The benefits of baby massage are by now well known the real question that remains for parents is: How exactly do I do it?Written by an experienced baby massage therapist (and parent), this guide shows parents how to massage their babies with love and tenderness. Helpful photographs demonstrate the precise placement of the hands and easy-to-follow instructions explain the benefits of massage for legs, arms, and bodies. Special massages are included to calm your baby to sleep, comfort fussing, relieve tummy troubles, and relax your baby after a bath. The stand-up format will allow parents to follow the instructions while keeping their hands free to interact with their babies."
The spiral bound book folds over like a table tent which makes it easy to set up and read while you're holding the baby. I was so busy when my baby came home that it was one of the few books I was actually able to read. The content is good too in that it provides you not only with simple, easy to do massage techniques, but also has a wide variety of information including how to calm your baby, what oils to use etc. If you're expecting this to be a reference book of sorts or anything more than a step by step basic guide to baby massage, then it's not the one for you. The format of the book would make it difficult to reference.

I love this book. I teach infant massage and I provide this book and Vimala McClure's Infant Massage to my students. My husband loves this book, too. He uses it every night when he massages our baby. It's so easy to prop it up at the changing table!

This book makes me want to have another baby! This book is so much fun! The author does an excellent job of delivering what is really a very important message about early infant growth and development while preserving a simple and fun approach that inspires the reader to want to give it a try. Once you try it, you're hooked! If done the way the author suggests in the CLASS approach, you are setting you and your baby up for optimum communication, positive shared experiences and an all around good time that you 'll want again and again. The format is genius - flipchart style! Get this book. If you don't, you are missing out on one of the joys of parent-infant interaction - and it's EXCELLENT FOR DADS too!
