Great story; important ideas

Baker's "Athens, America" is both a great read and chocked full of important ideas. The intertwining story of two fathers made me think about my own feelings as a parent and had an impact on how I view my own role and responsibilities. I also enjoyed the intricacies of small-town politics explained through the stories of characters who are genuine examples of people we all know. Baker has a dry wit which comes out in some very memorable lines that made me laugh out loud. But don't read the last page first because it will ruin the surprise. Buy this book and enjoy it.
