Francesca Hairston, known as "Frankie" to her friends at the prestigious women's college where she works, is set to testify at the trial of a handyman accused of committing a series of violent crimes around campus. Because the accused doesn't resemble her own attacker, Frankie decides to hire a private investigator to do some digging. Although she's convinced that there's more to the case than meets the eye, what she doesn't expect to unearth is her long-dormant romantic passion. Private detective Nelson Santiago is reluctant to take on a case involving an ongoing police investigation. Having sworn off women since his divorce, he is surprised to find that he's attracted to Frankie Hairston and agrees to take her case. What he doesn't count on is the emotional intensity and physical danger they both encounter in stalking Frankie's mysterious assailant.
Someone is killing women athletes at a prestigious school in Georgia and now they're after Francesca "Frankie" Hairston. After fleeing her home, Frankie (the sister of Dr. Matthew Peterson and sister-in-law of Nina Ward in "Not the One") has had enough and is determined to find out who's behind the murders and who wants to harm her. But she needs professional help. Sexy, handsome and often brooding Nelson Santiago, (Nina's cousin), former NY cop turned private investigator, has turned down her request for help once already. However, this time around he senses that Frankie's fear is stronger than his desire to say no. So, he and Frankie set out on a path to track down a murderer, find an attacker and possibly free an innocent man. Yet while on the road, the mutual attraction between them starts to heat up. And let me tell you, it could boil water! As always, Ms. Savoy reigns supreme! I couldn't wait until this book came out. I finished it in a day, reading at work and until wee hours of the morning. It was fast paced and kept me glued to each page with growing anticipation. It had EVERYTHING I expect from Ms. Savoy - love and passion beyond words, suspense and an exciting plot. I enjoyed "seeing" Nelson's grandmother again, as well as meeting his mother and his daughters, which gives us more insight as to who Nelson really is. Ms. Savoy never lets me down! This is definitely another masterpiece. Bravo!
